WISHful Thinking, again...

Game WISH for the week: How do you choose games to join or to run? What factors influence you: timing, people, system, genre, etc.? Do you weigh different factors for different kinds of games, e.g., online vs. tabletop vs. LARP? Is it a group decision or a decision you make on your own?

Call me a game ho', but honestly, I'll play nearly anything. The only limiting factor is my time--I just max out at 2 gaming sessions per week these days. But as my groups know, I am pretty much willing to throw myself enthusiastically into character creation for even the games I profess to hate, such as D&D. I love trying out new mechanics for games; the more dice, usually, the better I like it. Deadlands--what an awesome system! I get to roll handfuls of d12's, for god's sake! There are certain games whose mechanic seems to be badlly flawed, in my opinion, and my tolerance for playing those peaks out at about 6 sessions--assuming a good gm and a fun group of people. But when you come right down to it...I...WILL...PLAY....ANYTHING. So shamelesss!
